The Jeryme Brown and Mitchell Smalls Foundation to honor Atlanta area community members through fundraising event on March 28th 2009!

On the morning of Marh 28th community leaders across the Clayton County and Atlanta areas will gather at “A Royal Breakfast: An Event to Benefit the Passport Program.” They will be honored by the Jeryme Brown and Mitchell Smalls Foundation (JBMSF) and learn more about JBMSF Afterschool Programming!  The honoree breakfast event will be an opportunity to pay tribute to local community members who make a difference throughout the Atlanta area.  “A Royal Breakfast” will include entertainment by Passport Afterschool Program students and local artists, fundraising activities, and a magnificent breakfast fit for a king!  Proceeds from this event will go to support JBMSF programming, and help Passport Program students to achieve their summer trips, including the 8th grade international and educational service trip to South Africa!  JBMSF intends that with community support, the foundation’s Afterschool Services Programming can expand to operate at every middle school in Clayton County.

The Passport Program is an entity of the Jeryme Brown and Mitchell Smalls Foundation.  Jeryme Brown and Mitchell Smalls were two children killed in separate acts of violence in which they were caught in the crossfire.  Inspired by these two children, The Passport Program is a new and innovative after school services program that works with middle school students in Clayton County.

The Passport Program is the only afterschool program for Middle schoolers in Clayton County designed specifically to provide academic and emotional support from within the school system.  The mission of The Passport Program is to cultivate young citizens who are in tune with their community and the world around them.  Citizens who understand that through new experiences they have opportunities to learn and change their lives, and subsequently the world.
